"The myth of Medea: Of love to Argonaut leader Jason, she kills her brother. Jason betrays her, and she kills his new wife and her own two sons.
Heiner Müller (East Germany): One of Europe's most performed contemporary playwrights, labelled as the heir of Brecht and Beckett. His texts Medea Material and Landscape with Argonauts make the foundation for the production.
Jeg. Medea: A production made from improvisation, in which we have done research in the meeting between the mythical and the personal."

Steinar Wiik, Verd et besøk (literally: Worth a visit), 04.12.1989, Aftenposten [Oslo]:
"Strongest and most immediate the stage design works, with its modern pipe constructions it yet gives an almost timeless, fear-inducing impression. [...] Yet, the production has many qualities and seems in most aspects very conscious of its use of effects. And both Siv Jarto and Elsa Kvamme take their part in engaging the audience. Valkyrien Teater is worth a visit."
Janne Kjellberg, Medea i kapellet (literally: Medea in the chapel), 06.12.1989, Klassekampen [Oslo]:
"The material for the stage design has been found in Dittenhullet, and makes an exciting contrast to the sober space of the chapel. [...] The power of the material disappears in a slightly annoying and insisting "strong" impressions. [...] Jeg. Medea* (I. Medea) offers an exciting wrapping, but unfortunately has lost its content on the way."
