Håndbok for turister* (Guidebook for tourists)

Håndbok for turister* (Guidebook for tourists) (1989) is a comedy by and with Elsa Kvamme.

In the flier for Håndbok for turister the following, among other things, is written:

"In this production one meets the Arch-Norwegian Nelly (see photo) who because of certain conditions is forced to leave her handicapped mother's iron grip to see the world. We also meet the writer of the guidebook, The Guide, who is a mix of woman and rabbit, and who advices the Norwegians so that they can handle different difficulties and become more able to survive as species. The performance is made using a primarily physical expression, with situation comedy and the naive presence of the clown as a foundation."

More

In the program for Håndbok for turister* (Guidebook for tourists) by Elsa Kvamme the following, among other things, is written:

"When the last charter tourist has found his beach happiness should be complete. But no. That is when one lifts the sunglasses to look for the shark. The snake. The seducer. The thief. The storm. The disaster.

It is said that The Roman Empire fell after the invention of the sofa. Our guide fears that the welfare society is facing a similar problem: In a crisis the slum dwellers of Calcutta will be more able to survive than we are. Our guide finds that this by no means is deserved. That is why she has made her own personal crusade of a charter trip.

Our guide knows the Scandinavian soul in full. She knows how to satisfy the security addicts and the more vampire-like. Unsentimental and practical she makes sure everybody returns alive."
