Alice og Apen* (Alice and the Monkey)

Alice og Apen* (Alice and the Monkey) by Saltkompagniet was a production for children, loosely based on Alice in Wonderland and Travels with the monkey.

Elsa Kvamme directed it.

In Performing Arts Hub Norway's sales catalogue for 1984 the following, among other things, is written about the production:

"We have placed Alice in a situation at school, one that does not correspond to her dream of what a school can be. A strict teacher tries to imprint the necessities and boring sides of life, when the monkey enters and turns the classroom upside-down. The monkey, known for its unpredictability, magical aptitude and knowledge of thousand transformations in the Chinese tradition, brings the teacher and the pupil along on a journey within the classroom, to show its version of how life can be."
