Jamsíis
The dance production Jamsíis (2010) by Frikar was accompanied by percussion, ice, the traditional Norwegian fiddle Harding fiddle, plus sensor based sound and video. Jamsíis means alongside or parallel in the dialect of the Norwegian district of Valdres.
"After a terrible atom disaster one of the few survivors is searching for happiness on a deserted glacier. In lack of contact with others the boy creates his own patterns of action, with its own rules – until he meets a challenger from civilisation – a milk pail!"
Jamsíis by Frikar was supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts).
