HC Andersens fødselsdag* (HC Andersen’s Birthday) by Lighthearted Adele is a drama project consisting of two parts, with the duration of two school periods. The first part is a theatre production in which the audience is given insight in the life of the world-famous fairytale writer. We meet him as a poor son of a cobbler in Odense, as a young student in the theatre, and as the aging, rather demanding guest in the summer residence of the Melchior family, called Rolighed (literally: Calm). The housekeeper Marie is the one who binds it all together through storytelling, adapting selected fairytales, puppetry, music, dance, song and images.

Lighthearted Adele has visited several schools with the project, which has also been performed in the cultural centre for children called Barnas Kulturhus in Bergen.
