The production Miss Very Wagner by Charlotte Engelkes springs out from different characters in the operas of Richard Wagner. Miss Very Wagner is a crash between the music of Wagner and performance art the way of Engelkes. The production examines issues such as love, war, heaven and earth. The audience experiences a collage of song, text and dance.
When Engelkes visited Avant Garden and Trøndelag Theatre in 2003 with Miss Julie – The Musical the audience experienced joy and provocation from her playful, distinct and informal interpretation of the famous August Strindberg play Miss Julie.
Charlotte Engelkes broke through with the legendary company Remote Control Productions in Rewind Song in 1987. The next years Bad Air, La Prison de femmes, Rough and Daniel and the dancers followed. In the period of 1988 –94 the company toured all over Europe. The productions brought innovation to the field of performing arts and many have been inspired by them. The past years Engelkes has had all of Europe as her work location. She collaborates with a number of artists on a per production basis.
Miss Very Wagner by Charlotte Engelkes was supported by The National Public Arts Council in Sweden.
