Sexual/saxual healing

In Sexual/saxual healing the brothers Kjetil Møster and Morten Traavik united forces in the duo Trøster (literally: Comforting). They offered two evenings of sexual as well as saxual healing to the laid-back people of Trøndelag in the theatre venue of Avant Garden, the autumn of 2005.

More

In Sexual/saxual healing by Kjetil Møster and Morten Traavik the audience was invited to meet a real man – a man of the kind that can charm you a late Friday night in any nightclub.

In the theatre part of the production called sexual healing the audience meets a man fed up with endless, constructed media debates about gender roles – by and with frustrated middle class academics. He is depressed by having the contemporary term of male joy defined by the writer Mads "Shavenballs" Larsen, and he is lulled to sleep by pretend-shocking sex and relationship material in 20 channels. In a loose and sympathetic standup-style real confessions by a real man is laid forth, here and now taking hold of life. But where’s the limit between hold and abuse? As he says for himself: JUST DO IT!

After the theatre production Kjetil Møster took over playing saxual healing, an expressive solo discovery journey in the same masculine terrain, firing under the reputation Møster has as the angriest sax player in Norway.

Sexual/saxual healing was supported by The Audio Visual Fund and the cultural department of the municipality of Bergen.
