About Your Brother. Remember? by Zachary Oberzan Black Box Teater writes:
"As happy boys in the American countryside, Zachary and his older brother Gator loved to make parodies of their favourite movies, in particular the karate opus Kickboxer by Jean-Claude Van Damme and the infamous cult movie Faces of Death.
Twenty turbulent years have passed.
Zachary goes back home to his childhood home and talks his brother into remaking the movies again. Image for image, as precise as possible, but now seen through a lens of twenty years’ emotional and physical strain. One brother became an actor, the other self-destructive. Who is who? Could it have been the other way around? And what does these strange parallels in Van Damme’s own personal life mean, the way it has developed over the same twenty years? The childhood’s simple wish for love seems to have been replaced by fame, drugs and ambitions."
Zachary Oberzan is one of the original members of the New York collective Nature Theater of Oklahoma. Han achieved acclaim for his production Rambo Solo.
