In Profesora Catti Brandelius continues her examination of gender roles.

The performance artist Catti Brandelius made a quick career in Sweden and made her mark in the art world as well as the media through her alter ego Miss Universum, a counterweight to the beauty pageant. She doesn’t want to please the world; she wants to change the world so that it pleases her. Brandelius used a giant penis as a medium to interview Plato and Aristotle about their view of women, calling for Simone de Beauvoir, Hildegard of Bingen, Aung San Suu Kyi and Phoolan Devi including others.

Profesora is the new alter ego of Catti Brandelius. She is an educator for our time, presenting facts which have, for reasons beyond understanding, fallen out of the history books. With songs such as Forskningsrapporterna (literally: The Research Reports)Man föds inte på en dag (literally: No one is born in a day) and Drottning eller Psyko (literally: Queen or Psycho)Profesora beats her audience over the fingers with electro clash and synthesizers. She does research in the unstable corridors of history with newly forged keys.

Catti Brandelius is an artist and musician. She graduated from Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in 2000.
