At the webpage of The Norwegian Theatre, the following, among other things, is written about Come Back, Liza:

"Lauritz Moe is to introduce the old Harry Belafonte hit Come Back, Liza. But today, he has not just been left by his girlfriend, he has also just gotten to know that his father's body has been identified in Eastern Africa. It is difficult to concentrate on what he is to say, and digressions push through. While his thoughts fly, he brings us on a journey to a landscape in which myths and reality merge. The core theme is a man's longing for his father.

A generation of sailors

In the mid-1970es, almost a third of all Norwegian men in working age had been working at sea for shorter or longer periods of time. Actor Lasse Kolsrud was one of them. His experiences with the dog watch, scraping rust, cheap spirits for Christmas, and not least his relationship to his father, who was a sailor all his life, have made up one of the foundations for the story of the former sailor Lauritz Moe. The production was made in collaboration with Terje Nordby and was first performed in 1997. When they now revive it, they want to find out how Lauritz Moe is now, 20 years later."
