The show can't go on

The show can't go on (2020) was a theatre production by The Norwegian Theatre, based on an essay by Roland Schimmelpfennig. The production was performed on the street in front of The Norwegian Theatre in May and June 2020. It was also recorded as a podcast, which was made available through The Norwegian Theatre's website. The access was free.

Carl Morten Amundsen directed it.

Jon Bleiklie Devik performed the monologue.

Schimmelpfennig's essay was written in German for the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, where it was published March 24 2020, using the English-language title The show can't go on (the rest of the text was in German). The text is about the reality for theatres during and after the Corona crisis, and it was quickly translated into several languages.
