Monsters by Oslo Internasjonale Teater is about the 1993 case in which two year old James Bulger was murdered by two 11 year old boys. In the controversial trial the two boys were sentenced for murder and became the two youngest murderers who had been sentenced in England for 250 years.
Playwright Niklas Rådström has based Monsters on court minutes, protocols from interrogations and interviews related to the terrible murder.
"With Monsters we promise a totally different theatre experience. We will work our way through the text and the story with the audience and make it a collective experience. We are together in dealing with this difficult subject."
The text has an emotionally strong content.
Monsters by Oslo Internasjonale Teater was supported by The Fund for Performing Artists, the municipality of Oslo and the Freedom of Expression Foundation Fritt Ord. It was presented with permit from Draken Teaterförlag.
