Klippen* (The Rock) by Samovarteateret AKA The Samovar Theatre or just Samovar was made on commission from Sør-Varanger museum the autumn of 2006, when the union of the mining company AS Sydvaranger, named Nordens Klippe, celebrated their 100 year anniversary.

In the production Klippen* (The Rock) by Samovarteateret AKA The Samovar Theatre or just Samovar the history of Nordens Klippe (literally: The Rock of the North) told through old and new songs and texts. The production emphasised women’s role in the active workers’ community. In addition to actors, Samovarteateret included the all-female rock band Burka Brothers.
