Fredrikshald Theatre
Fredrikshald Theatre is a theatre and museum building in Halden, designed by the military engineer Balthazar Nicolay Garben. It was completed in 1838.
When Fredrikshald Theatre opened, the work of realising a new theatre venue in the town had been going on for a period of twelve years, since the town fire of 1826. The first theatre had been raised by the amateur theatre association Det dramatiske Selskab in Fredrikshald (opened in 1820), and it was also a successor of this association that was behind the building of Fredrikshald Theatre.

The Østfold Museum Foundation, which is now managing the building, calls Fredrikshald Theatre Norway's best preserved baroque theatre. The raked stage, the salon with balcony, foyers and ballroom from the original 1838 building are preserved. In 1850, Fredrikshalds Theatre was expanded with party facilities, two salons, an office for the direction, entrance and kitchen.
Fredrikshald Theatre is currently owned by Halden Historical Collections and is used as a museum and a theatre venue.
