Globe to Globe Festival
In the Globe to Globe Festival, hosted by Shakespeare’s Globe, all 37 Shakespeare plays were performed in 37 different languages over six weeks in London in the summer of 2012.
Globe to Globe was part of the World Shakespeare Festival (WSF), produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company. It was for of the London 2012 Festival which was the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad, bringing leading artists from all over the world together in a UK-wide festival.
In a further celebration of language, Sonnet Sunday, launched Globe to Globe, offering the opportunity to see all 154 of Shakespeare’s sonnets performed in over 25 different languages, in addition to those featured in the festival.
