Theater de Citadel - Groningen, established in 1993, was one of the theaters for children and youth in the Netherlands. The theatre ceased operations by 1st of January 2013 because of lack of financial subsidies.
When Theater de Citadel - Groningen was established there was little or no theater for children and young people in the north of the Netherlands.
