Norwegian performing arts in the international arena(2292)
For more than 100 years, Norwegian performing arts have toured internationally. This has been an important way to promote Norwegian culture and it has been central to the artists' network building and inspiration for further development of their own artistic practise.
This gallery shows images, photos, playbills, and video from productions performed abroad. If you wish a complete list of where and when the productions in the database have been performed, you are welcome to contact us to be sent a report on this.

The first production registered as performed abroad in the Sceneweb archive, is The National Theatre's production of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's play At Storhove (1902). This was the world premiere production of the play, and the year after the opening at The National Theatre in Oslo, it was performed at the Danish national theatre, The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, in 1903. It is likely that Norwegians toured internationally before this, but as of now, this is the first source to it in this archive.
