Baktruppen ceased to exist March 1 2011, after 25 years of activity. They left behind a large archive consisting of videos, sound recordings, photos, programs, posters, fliers, tickets, production notebooks, project descriptions, research material, press releases, invitations, articles, opinion pieces, interviews, reviews, scripts, production notes, performance calendars and contents of the Baktruppen webpage. This collection consists of this audiovisual material.
Sceneweb worked on Baktruppen's private archive from 2011 to 2016. We wish to thank the members of the company for choosing to share their archive, and we also wish to thank all who supported the work on this archive. The physical material was transferred to The National Library of Norway for long-term storage March 1 2011.

Baktruppen (1986-2011) was one of Norway's most successful independent companies. The company was established in Bergen in 1986. After their international breakthrough, considered to be their version of Heiner Müller's Germania Tod in Berlin in 1989, they were sought-after in venues all over Europe.
