The Tin Drum
The Tin Drum (1959) is a novel by Günter Grass.
The Tin Drum (German: Die Blechtrommel) is the first book in Grass' Danzig trilogy.
The novel is about the young boy Oskar Matzerath who doesn't want to grow any more, and at the same time it is a historical novel about the mid-war years in Danzig (Gdańsk).
