Før stormen* (Before the Storm)
Før stormen* (Before the Storm) is a play by Finn Halvorsen from 1942.
The playwright Finn Halvorsen led the Nazi directorate for theatre, and Før stormen was written as Nazi propaganda. Before the world premiere at The National Theatre, two actors fled to Sweden to avoid playing the leading character Kjell Hallangen: Jørn Ording and Lars Nordrum. Jens Bolling was forced to take over the role.
Halvorsen also tried to have The National Stage in Bergen produce the play, but this was refused by the head of the theatre, Egil Hjorth-Jenssen.
