The show can't go on

The show can't go on is an essay by Roland Schimmelpfennig, which has been performed as a theatre monologue in several different countries. The text has been translated into the New Norwegian as I røynda er det heilt stille (literally: In reality, it is all quiet), and into the Norwegian Bokmal as Den siste forestilling (literally: The last performance).

The essay was written in German for the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, where it was published March 24 2020, using the English-language title The show can't go on (the rest of the text was in German). The text is about the reality for theatres during and after the Corona crisis, and it was quickly translated into several languages.
