Arlene Wilkes

Arlene Wilkes (born August 3 1964) is a Norwegian dancer, singer and actress, originally from San Fernando in Trinidad.

Arlene Wilkes attended ballet school with Norwegian Jennifer Day in Port of Spain, and joined Day in coming to Norway in 1982. Jennifer Day started Carte Blanche in 1984, and Wilkes was a member of the cast from the beginning. Prior to this she had studied at The National Academy of Ballet, Oslo for a year.

She became a Norwegian citizen in 1990. Wilkes danced with Oslo Dance Ensemble from its start in 1993, until 2003.

Arlene Wilkes won The Hedda Award 2002 in particularly excellent performance category for the role of Velma in Chicago, produced by Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre) in 2002.

Arlene Wilkes lived in Norway until 2005, when she returned to her fatherland, but she came back to Oslo in 2009 for the role of Tanja in Mamma Mia at Folketeateret.
