Bjørn Jenseg

Bjørn Erling Jenseg (born July 26 1932 in Sarpsborg, dead March 4 2008) was a Norwegian actor. From 1968 until he retired in 2003 he was connected to The Norwegian Theatre. Bjørn Jenseg was married to Grete Randsborg Jenseg.

Bjørn Jenseg started his acting career at Folketeatret in 1956. In the period from 1959 to 1960 he and Odd Furøy toured with their own experimental company, Studiescenen. Next he spent five years at Trøndelag Theatre and later he came to Rogaland Theatre, for which he worked from 1965 until 1968 before starting working for The Norwegian Theatre.

He was a character actor who mastered classic drama and psychological realism as well as musical theatre and modern, poetic and absurd theatre.

Dustefjerten og andungen* (The Dork Fart and the Duck Chick) by The Norwegian Theatre was nominated for The Hedda Award 2003 in the best production for children and youth category. Bjørn Jenseg played the title role. This became his farewell performance after 34 years at The Norwegian Theatre.
