Martin Bélanger

Martin Bélanger became interested in dance in 1990, through his work in theatre. His experience in theatre and cinema informed his understanding of the stage, performance and interpretation. While studying in dance at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1997, he began developing his unique approach to dance with shows like: The Era of Darkness (2001), Demonstration no.1, Spoken word/body (2002) and, with Isabelle Schad, Leistung (2005), to name some. His creations have been presented in Montreal (Tangente, MAI, Usine C) and in New York, Japan, France, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.
