Gunnar Wærness
Gunnar Wærness (born 1971, Trondheim) is a Norwegian poet. Wærness is one of the editors behind the literary journal Luj. Gunnar Wærness now lives in Skåne, Sweden.

Gunnar Wærness has published several poetry collections. For his debut King's Splint he received the debut writer award Tarjei Vesaas' debutantpris in 1999. Thank You came in 2002. In 2004 Gunnar Wærness was selected among Norway's ten best writers under 35 years of age by The Norwegian Festival of Literature and the weekly newspaper Morgenbladet. In 2006 his poem Dear Prayer from the poetry collection Each Other's, published the same year, selected as the best poem of the year by the radio program Ordfront by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's channel NRK P2. His poetry collection Let there be world was published in 2007 and in 2010 he and Pedro Carmona-Alvarez edited the anthology Verden finnes ikke på kartet* (The world is not on the map) with poems and poets from all over the world.
