Kathrine Hysing

Kathrine Hysing (born 25th of October 1953) is a Norwegian stage designer and costume designer. Hysing was educated at The National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo and at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (SADA) in Stockholm. Since then she has worked as a stage designer and costume designer within theatre, ballet and opera at several institutions in Norway: amongst blant annet 20 productions for The Norwegian National Opera and 14 productions for The National Theatre. She was working as the leader of the costume departement at Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2005-2011.

She was the designer of The Museum of Contemporary Art's exhibition Per Spook – Norwegian Fashion Designer in Paris.

Outside of Norway she has been involved in opera productions in Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, Paris, Nice, Antwerp, Glasgow, Dortmund, Stuttgart and 10 productions for Kungliga Teatern in Stockholm.

Kathrine Hysing was nominated for The Hedda Award 2006 in the best visual design category for her stage design and costume design for Drømmere* (Dreamers) at Rogaland Theatre.
