Maria Tryti Vennerød
Maria Tryti Vennerød (born 1978) is a playwright. She made her debut with More in 2002 and has written a number of theatre texts since then.
In 2003 Maria Tryti Vennerød won the Norwegian-Swedish drama contest arranged in connection with the 2005 jubilee celebration of the dissolved union between Norway and Sweden with Frank. She received the Norwegian Ibsen Award in 2005 for The Lady at the Counter. Two of the winning contributions in the competition 100 og NÅ in 2006 were hers (The Test and Neverland).
Later she has directed two of her own plays, first GOKK in 2007 and later Heat (a contemporary opera with music composed by Julian Skar) in 2009. In October 2010 Neverland opened at The Norwegian Theatre, directed by Jon Tombre.
