From 1985 to 1991 Jérôme Bel danced with several choreographers in France and Italy. In 1992, he assisted Philippe Découflé for the opening ceremony of the XVIth winter Olympic Games of Albertville.

His own productions are nom donné par l’auteur (1994), Jérôme Bel (1995), and Shirtology (1997), which was commissioned by Victoria (Ghent) and Centro Cultural de Belem (Lisbon). A Japanese version was also made in Kyoto and Tokyo. 

Later Jérôme Bel produced The last performance (1998), Xavier Le Roy (1999) and The show must go on (2001). This piece is also on the repertory of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.

For the ballet of The Opera National de Paris Jérôme Bel made the choreography Veronique Doisneau (2004). For the Thai dancer Pichet Klunchun he produced Made in Thailand (2005)
