Edhem Jesenkovic

Edhem Jesenkovic (1977) was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Throughout his childhood he explored different expressions such as music, ski and football. In 1993 Edhem Jesenkovic immigrated to Sweden, where dance caught his attention. 16 year old he started his career as a dancer in Stockholm.

Edhem Jesenkovic began his employment with Carte Blanche in 2009. He has danced with the company at past occasions.

Edhem Jesenkovic was educated at The Royal Swedish Ballet School, graduating in 1999. Since then he has worked with several projects and different companies in Scandinavia as well as other parts of Europe, including Danish Dance Theatre, Carte Blanche, Galili Dance, Ballet Gulbenkian, Ohad Naharin, Philipe Blanchard, Ina Christel Johannessen, Andersson Dance and Skånes Dansteater.

Edhem Jesenkovic has choreographed at different occasions in Copenhagen, including "Balkan Rhapsody", "4-1" and "7x8 That’s all it is". For the latter he won the first prize in Cross Connection Ballet’s choreography contest.
