About Kai Remlov

Kai Remlov (born December 30 1946) is a Norwegian actor.

He made his debut as a student at The Norwegian Touring Theatre in Romeo and Juliet, and has been employed at The National Theatre from 1973. Here he has interpreted more than 100 roles.

Kai Remlov has acted in classic plays and modern drama. Among the Ibsen productions he has performed in are Peer Gynt (1975), League of Youth (1978), Brand (1978, 1990 and 1998), The Wild Duck (1986, 1991, 1996, 2004 and 2012), Hedda Gabler (1988, here he interpreted the role of George Tesman), The Vikings at Helgeland (1991), Rosmersholm (2008), plus Sebastian Hartmann's Ibsen-collage The Ibsen Machine (2010).

He interpreted the role of John in David Mamet's Oleanna (1994), Hamm in Samuel Beckett's Endgame (2004), the man in Lars Norén's Winter Storage (2003), Willy Brandt in Michael Frayn's Democracy (2005), the father in Jon Fosse's Shadows and Karenin in Anna Karenina (2012).

Kai Remlov was nominated for The Hedda Award 2001 in particularly excellent performance category for the role of Elias Rukla in Shyness and Dignity, produced by The National Theatre in 2000.
