Nils Jakob Johannesen

Nils Jakob Johannesen is a dancer and choreographer.

Nils Jakob Johannesen is educated at Nordic Black Theatre (three years of theatre studies, graduation 2002).

Johannesen has specialised in Japanese Butoh dance plus Ashtanga yoga, and to a large degree he has studied with teachers in Norway and abroad, at times during longer study residencies. For instance, he spent 2 x 3 months at the farm of Butoh master Min Tanaka in Japan. Further he has participated in workshops in Butoh work with Monica E. Herstad, Stuart Lynch, Frank van der Ven and Katarina Bakatsaki.
