Scenography of Remonstration

Prosjektet undersøker hva som kan være en gyldig kunstnerisk form for å iscenesette det politiske. Det søker å utfordre maktstrukturer i relasjonen mellom kunstner og publikum, unngå et rent katharsisk utfall, og heller legge til rette for aktiv debatt gjennom scenografiske strategier som spiller på – og mot – eksisterende rom, særlig institusjonelle.

Dokumentasjonsutstillingen presenterer prosjekter støttet av Norwegian Theatre Academy, gjennomført i ulike land i samarbeid med institusjoner som ZHDK, Theater am Neumarkt og Revolutionary Collective i Zürich, Deichman Tøyen i Oslo, samt Ajuntament de Balaguer, Raw Scenography, El Cigonyal og Somriu Balaguer i Balaguer, Catalonia.

- The broader picture of the research is to question what can be a valid artistic form when it comes to staging the political, with an attempt to avoid power structure regarding artist-audience relation, avoid the cathartic outcome, and encourage active debate created through scenographical tactics over existing strategies generated by the spaces, especially the institutional ones. 

- The documentation exhibition will present projects supported by Norwegian Theatre Academy, which took place in different countries, in collaboration with institutions: ZHDK, Theater Am Neumarkt and Revolutionary collective in Zurich. And, Deichmanske Bibliotek Tøyen in Oslo. Moreover, Ajuntament De Balaguer, Raw scenography, El Cigonyal, and Somriu Balaguer in Balaguer-Catalonia.
