La Traviata

La Traviata (1950) was an opera production by The National Theatre with support from Operafondet (the Opera fund), based on the opera by Giuseppe Verdi (music) and Fancesco Maria Piave (libretto), after Alexandre Dumas the younger's play and novel Camille. The production was performed at the opera's main stage.

Pauline Hall directed it.

Randi Helseth sang the role of Violetta. She received Norwegian Critics' Award for music 1949/1950 for the role.

Bjarne Buntz sang the role of Alfredo. He had sung the same role for The National Theatre in 1937.
