More about Dottera* (The Daughter)
"It is a fair morning. A woman and a man wake up almost at the same moment, and they stay in bed longer than they ought to, as their children are still asleep. They will soon eat breakfast, and they will load their bicycles onto the car, to go where they made a tent camp last year. The oldest daughter has decided to stay at home. She has invited some girls to celebrate that she turns 18. This is fine, as they are nice girls. Besides, her mother has said that she will go by some time during the night. So she has said - but what if it doesn't happen after all?
Dottera is a story about a family. About my children and yours, and the one who just lives here a little, as she lives mostly with her mother. It is a story about the way everything may break apart during one single night, even though we all long for the same thing.
Dottera is the second part of the pentalogy Livet* (Life) - a series of productions describing the transformations of life, from birth to death. The text is based on conversations with parents, stepparents, children, youth and one another.
The audience sits in a frame some four meters above ground, looking down into a home consisting of bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room and hall. At the same time, they are provided with each their headset, to make it possible to follow a three-dimensional soundscape.
