The widower Johannes Orden (the surname can be directly translated as Order) goes to the churchyard to tend to his wife’s grave, the way he has done for ten years. But the day of the play he meets a little girl who doesn’t know who she is, where she comes from or who her parents are. First Johannes doesn’t want to know anything about her, but he soon realises that he can’t leave her to herself, he has to help her. Two lonely souls find each other.
