Løvebrøl (Roar of a Lion)

Løvebrøl* (Roar of a Lion) by Cirka Teater: The story about the little lion who likes to play. While searching for someone to play with he meets Kubbe and Kasse, Kule, Rull and Tårn and Bjelke. Can they play? The little lion crawls and climbs and jumps. Suddenly Kubbe rolls over, Bjelke slides and Rull turns out to be a black hole. The little lion is squashed flat. This is when he feels he has to roar, but the big roar of a lion doesn’t come without effort.

More

For small humans and small animals the world is brand new. Everything is to be discovered.

In Løvebrøl* (Roar of a Lion) by Cirka Teater the audience joined the lion’s exploration expedition. The artists in Cirka Teater have let themselves be fascinated of the endless determination children display while playing. The little ones have the ability to immerse, to live here and now, suddenly find something new and to let go of everything they have in their hands or between their teeth to follow the new trace, as intense and focused.

Løvebrøl by Cirka Teater was a performance without words, about the funny discoveries and the scary disasters. It was about falling over and over again, to shake one’s whiskers back into place and get back on one’s feet. The little ones will recognise it, the slightly larger ones will find it funny and the grownups may find it inspiring. If we could borrow the curiosity of the little lion just for one day, maybe we could discover everything we lose out of, to rediscover some of our lost ability to play?
