Othello

Otello (1960) was an opera production by The Norwegian National Opera, based on the opera by Giuseppe Verdi (music) and Arrigo Boito (libretto), after the play Othello by William Shakespeare. The production was performed in the opera facilities in Folketeatret.

The director was Josef Witt.

The conductor was Odd Grüner-Hegge.

Bjarne Buntz performed the title role. The role was later performed by Kolbjørn Høyseth and Leonard del Ferro.

Aase Nordmo Løvberg performed the role of Desdemona. This role was later performed by Kari Rasmussen.

Waldemar Johnsen and Sigurd Björling performed the role of Iago.
