At the website of The National Stage the following, among other things, is written about The Dumb Waiter:

"Two men in a basement. Who are they? Why are they there? They talk about football, making tea, the news in the papers and a bag of chips. Trivial things. Rather absurd, considering how they keep their pistols at the ready. But who are they to be aimed towards? And why don't they get any instructions?

Nervousness is on the rise. When strange messages start coming in from above, thy can no longer control the fear that something is wrong..."
