Vi som føler annleis* (We Who Feel Differently)

Vi som føler annleis* (We Who Feel Differently) (2015) is a theatre production by The Norwegian Theatre.

Carl Johan Karlson directs it and he has also compiled the text for the production.

Vi som føler annleis (Sceneweb's comment: the title in New Norwegian) has its title from the book Vi som føler annerledes (Sceneweb's comment: the same title in Norwegian Bokmal) by Øivind Eckhoff, published in 1957. This book was Norway's first scientific book on homophily. It is one of the origins of the theatre production, which also uses other documentary material, plus fictional stories.

At the website of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Vi som føler annleis* (We Who Feel Differently):

"Join the search for answers to male homosexuality's mysteries!

Underway we meet, among others, a closeted gay from the 19th century; 14 year old Ole who is hopelessly in love with the most popular boy in school, and gay icons such as Mariah Carey. Hopefully we find some answers to why gays still sweat when being about to tell Mom, why they are beaten up in school yards and why men seek intimacy in parks."
