The seminar Dramaturgy & Discourse discussed modern dance theory. The panel was presented as follows:

"Jeroen Peeters is educated within art history and philosophy, working as a critic, dramaturge and curator in Brussels. He works on a book about and with the choreographer Meg Stuart on how the body and the perception of it within dance and performance become areas of discourse, subject to critical approach and analysis of the world we live in. Peeters is a critic in the newspaper De Morgen and the founder and editor of the webpage www.sarma.be. As a dramaturge he has worked with Frankfurter Küche, Sabina Holzer, Thomas Lehmen, Vera Mantero, Sarah Michelson, Lisa Nelson, Carlos Pez and Superamas, among others. For the time being he is an artistic collaborator of Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods.

Helmut Ploebst has his background from studies in media and art history at The University of Vienna, and in 1989 he completed his doctor's degree on art ideologies in Vienna from 1918 to 1938. As a writer he has published a large number of articles on dance and performance in addition to reviews. As a visiting curator he has worked for dietheater Wien and the festival ImPulsTanz. In 2001 he published the book No wind no word. New Choreography in the Society of Spectacle with portraits of nine choreographers.

Mårten Spångberg is an artist living and working in Berlin and Stockholm. His own artistic practice emphasises distribution, responsibility and ownership, in particular in relation to decentralised experience methods. With the architect Tor Lindstrand he is behind International Festival, working with an expanded, immaterial form of performance. Spångberg has worked as a dramaturge for a number of choreographers and as a curator in addition to his own artistic projects. His solo production Heja Sverige (Go Sweden) was presented at Oktoberdans the year of the seminar.

Bojana Cvejic from Serbia has made her mark as a central performer and performance theoretician in recent years. She works with the director Jan Ritsema in Brussels, among others. She has written several articles, for journals including Slovenian MASKA and Croatian Frankcija. Her work and texts are strongly political and challenge the ideas of contemporary dance and performance. Cvejic teaches performance theory at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels, among other places."

The seminar was arranged by BIT Teatergarasjen, represented by Marie Nerland, and it was supported by the freedom of expression foundation Fritt Ord. The seminar was presented in English.
