The Cherry Orchard
The Cherry Orchard (1979) was a theatre production by The Norwegian Theatre, based on the play by Anton Chekhov. The production was performed inthe venue the theatre used at the time, in Stortingsgaten.
Tormod Skagestad directed it.
Henny Moan played the role of Ranyevskaya.
Harald Heide Steen played the role of the old servant Firs, who at the end of the play is forgotten and left behind in the mansion. This became his last role. Heide Steen had been a central actor at The Norwegian Theatre ever since 1935. The remaining run was cancelled when he died.
