Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead was a theatre production by The National Theatre, produced in 1968, and based on the play by Tom Stoppard. The production was the Norwegian premiere of Stoppard's play, which is inspired by the secondary characters Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in Hamlet by William Shakespeare. It was performed at the theatre's main stage.
Per Bronken directed it.
Knut Risan played the role of Rosencrantz. He had also played Rosencrantz in Shakespeare's Hamlet at The National Theatre in 1959.
Tor Stokke played the role of Gyldenstern.
Lars Andreas Larssen performed his first role as steadily employed at The National Theatre as Hamlet in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.
The production used music by the then very well known Norwegian band Dream.
