At the webpage of The Norwegian Touring Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Saga by Wakka Wakka:

"Gunnar Oddmundson dreamt of success and had great plans for the future, but then the Icelandic economy collapsed and sat a new world record in national bank bankruptcy. When his family leaves him and the bank threatens to take his house and his car, the family heroes of the past are awoken to life. The time of rebellion has come, and blood revenge rules!

Formerly Wakka Wakka has received a number of awards and good reviews for the productions Fabrik and Baby Universe, both of which have toured Norway.

Saga is supported by Arts Council Norway, the county of Nordland through Nordland Visual Theatre, New York State Council on the Arts, The Eugene O'Neill Center and The Jim Henson Foundation."

Press coverage

Jason Zinoman, New York Times, A Family Manipulated by an Economic Crisis, 25.03.2013:

"Kirjan Waage and Gwendolyn Warnock, who together wrote and directed this one-hour show at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, tackle macroeconomics by applying a microscope to the lives of a family affected by the Icelandic financial crisis. That it's staged with imaginative theatricality and precise physical grace is less impressive than the realism of its carefully observed portraits. There's puppet sex and pathos as well. But at its best Saga is about the overlooked human impact of the economic meltdown."

Angela Ashman, Village Voice, Saga on Thin Ice, 20.03.2013:

"Kirjan Waage and Gwendolyn Warnock's moving script (the moments with his young look-alike son are especially tender) makes you root for him to find a happy way out. If there's one gripe to make, it's that the creators go for a dark, over-the-top finish when a subtler landing would have been more satisfying. But the work is so full of big laughs and offers so much to love - Waage's wonderful puppet design, an appearance by the Northern Lights, and other delightful surprises (warning: you may get a little wet) - that all you'll remember is how much fun you had."

Mona Levin, Aftenposten, Fabelaktig om finanskrisen (literally: Fabulous about the financial crisis), 21.02.2014:

"Wakka Wakka's six puppeteers master their craft to the point of perfection. Light, sound, movement, comic timing, types, masks, lines, objects - everything is complete, to the smallest detail. Not as a copy, but through the fine art of suggestion, and what it starts of imagination and the ability to associate freely in the spectators."
