SH:HO by Carte Blanche consists of the works Killer Pig and Uprising by Sharon Eyal and Hofesh Shechter.

With Ohad Naharin Sharon Eyal is a resident choreographer at Batsheva Dance Company, and she stood behind half of Carte Blanche’s double-billed performance SH:HO. SH:HO had its premiere in The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet February 11 2009.

Eyal is known for her personal movement vocabulary and her works are often pervaded with references to sensuality, performed both very directly and near abstractly. Eyal’s work Killer Pig was made exclusively for the female dancers of Carte Blanche, and is an extremely physical work playing on her play with sensuality in all its diversity. Killer Pig rooms the contrast between purity and rawness, the beautiful and the disgusting.

The second work of SH:HO is the critically acclaimed Uprising by Hofesh Shechter, which dance critic Roslyn Sulcas of New York Times characterised as " one of the most inventive new choreographic voices to turn up in quite a while". Uprising is inspired by the suburban riots in Paris in 2006, and is a strictly constructed, raw and physically challenging work for seven male dancers.

SH:HO by Carte Blanche was supported by the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts).
