More

At the webpage of Siljeholm & Christophersen the following, among other things, is written about Valley of the moon:

"The original story of the Pony and the rababa, an old Jordanian folk tale, is the base for this theatre production using animation, video, projection, music and physical movement. The 5 actors on stage blend with the 4 projected video surfaces. The performance conveys a remake of the original story, where time and location, although with local and contemporary references, could take place anywhere, at any time. The folk tale inhabits a universal theme of love and friendship, in which the main character has to come to terms with the dilemma of risking to lose the person (the pony) he loves. The backdrop of visual images and animation is the valley of the moon in Wadi Rum Jordan."

Valley of the moon by Helle Siljeholm & Sara Christophersen was supported by the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs/MFA (grant for cultural exchange with Southern countries/performing arts).
