Anne Mali Sæther wrote the following about Hr. K og Universet* (Mr. K and the Universe):

"Mr. K. lived in a village where everybody had to dig a hole in the ground because something called 'The decision' had decided that a very special hole was to be dug. Why the decision had made this decision, nobody understood. Because everyone was digging and never looking at the sky the village was punished with fog. Sun, moon and stars disappeared. But the people on the island didn't care about that. At the island it was rude to look up. Everyone looked down because they were digging.

Mr. K couldn't understand why this hole was so important, and nobody on the island could tell him why. One night he went into the hole to ask Mother Earth herself. Mother Earth said a curse had been thrown over the island, and she called it the digging disease. She asked him to find the son of the Star, the son of the Sun and the daughter of the Moon to get their assistance in removing the fog. Mr. K then goes on a long journey, meeting surprises and dangers and eventually he finds the three needed to remove the fog."
