The God of Vengeance

The God of Vengeance (1927) was the opening performance at the avant-garde venue Balkongen.

The play by Sholem Asch had formerly been performed in Poland, Russia and Berlin (staged by Max Reinhardt). When it was performed at Broadway in 1923 the whole cast was prosecuted for obscenities.
