hamlet is dead. no gravity

hamlet is dead. no gravity (2012) was a staged reading by Oslo International Theatre in collaboration with The Norwegian Theatre, with a play by Austrian Ewald Palmetshofer as its foundation.

Øystein Ulsberg Brager and Philip Thorne directed it.

hamlet is dead. no gravity is about how much of a bother it can be to be human.

In the play everything begins in the funeral of Hannes, who was terribly unlucky, and from the funeral one passes directly into the birthday of the mother of Caro. Or, rather, everything begins with the house. Everything else is nonsense.

So if you're on the axis of evil you can be glad to have an axis at all
you can be glad just to be on a fucking axis instead of floating about in limbo.

Dani and Mani meet Oli and Bine, who have married since the last time around, and something will happen.

More

According to Oslo International Theatre hamlet is dead. no gravity is an elegant/brutal family drama from the time after the nature laws. The company asks: Do you need gravity to fall?

In 2008 the theatre journal Theater Heute called the Austrian playwright Ewald Palmetshofer "the most promising writer of the year". Since he in 2007 took German theatre by storm with his prize-awarded hamlet ist tot. keine schwerkraft Palmetshofer has provoked and challenged the German-speaking theatre audiences.

The way Oslo International Theatre sees it, there is not much doubt that Palmetshofer is the most exciting new voice of Austrian theatre right now, and his plays are performed at venues including Schauspielhaus Vienna, Schaubühne Berlin, Theater an der Ruhr Mühlheim and Schauspielhaus Dresden.
