Press coverage

Lillian Bikset, Dagbladet, Farvel til et fag (literally: Goodbye to a profession), May 7 2012, http://www.dagbladet.no/2012/05/07/kultur/scene/sceneanmeldelse/anmeldelser/det_norske_teatret/21485880/:

"When Svein Erik Brodal bids the stage farewell, he doesn't promote himself, but the profession.'What is an actor?', Svein Erik Brodal asks. 'You are', could the audience answer. For fifty years Brodal has been an employee of The Norwegian Theatre, as an actor, instructor and artistic director (1979-90). But this is not the answer he seeks. In his farewell, as in his career, the wide perspective is what Brodal is looking for. Professional curiosity, professional weight. (...) He quotes Denis Diderot, he uses Bertolt Brecht, he uses Constantin Stanislavski: Theatre perspectives far from each other. As such is the range of an actor's work, as such is Brodal's openness. Kva er...? is the farewell performance of the pedagogue and advocate Brodal, at least as much as the interpreter of roles'."
