Klinka Basara

Klinka Basara (2008) was a production for children by Rezan Saleh and Rita Lindanger.

Intercultural puppets from 21 countries come to Norway to stage a theatre production with children of different cultural backgrounds. The project is about the cultural diversity children experience in Norway today.

"Intercultural puppetry" was used to find answers to central questions regarding integration. How can children learn to accept one another and better to understand the cultural background from which they come? Can the children grow up to become more active in a democratic society, adjusting to its norms, with the assistance of puppets?

Klinka Basara was inspired by An Intercultural Puppethome from Munich.
